Benji and Balu: Their Rescue Story

This November, the Wildheart Animal Sanctuary invites you to a special evening at Medina Theatre featuring the story of their latest arrivals, two European brown bears called Benji and Balu, who were rescued from Azerbaijan in June this year.

During a series of presentations from members of the Wildheart team, you will find out why the Sanctuary decided to rescue bears, how they prepared for their arrival, and which threats European brown bears face in their natural habitat. Every aspect of Benji and Balu’s incredible journey will be explored, from their origins as ‘restaurant bears’ to the amazing progress they have made since arriving on the Isle of Wight!
